Located on the main strip of La Punta, Bonita Escondida is Puerto Escondido’s most social hostel — and proudly so. We’ve won the Hostelworld Award for Best Hostel in North & Central America, but what we’re most proud of is the community our guests and volunteers build every single day. Where is Bonita Escondida located?
We’re located on the Main Street of La Punta, Puerto Escondido. Just minutes from the beach with world famous surf spots, restaurants and nightlife. La Punta is a lively yet safe area, perfect for exploring and meeting fellow travellers.
How do I get to the hostel?
From the Airport:
The cheapest option is to take a ‘Shared Collectivo’ or Shared van from the airport – get off at the 7+1 mini supermarket in Brisas de Zicatela and walk down 5 minutes to our hostel – Should roughly cost $50 – $80 MXN pesos
From the ADO Bus station:
In Puerto the cheapest way to get around is using Collectivos which is the Pick up Trucks with Blue tents on the back. You can wave one down on the main highway road from ADO bus station and get off at 7+1 mini supermarket in Brisas de Zicatela and walk down 5 minutes to our hostel – Costs $15 MXN Pesos
Alternatively there are many local taxis that will be waiting either outside the airport or bus station, usually white and green or white and blue, always with their taxi registration numbers on the side of the car. Just tell them that you want to go to Bonita Escondida and they will know where to go.
How can I book a room?
Booking is simple! You can reserve your spot directly through our website via our Cloudbeds booking system, or through Hostelworld. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season we fill up fast!
What types of rooms do you offer?
We offer a range of options to suit every kind of traveller. Our dorm room sizes range from 4 bed female only dorms up to 12 bed mixed dorms. We also offer private rooms for those wanting a little more privacy and comfort. Check our booking page for availability and current rates.
Is the hostel social or quiet?
Definitely social! Bonita Escondida is all about good vibes, great people, and making memories. We’re proud winners of the Hostelworld Award for Best Hostel in North & Central America, and our community atmosphere is a big reason why. That said, our parties end when our bar closes at 11pm, respecting everyone’s need for rest.
